What is PlantPower™?
PlantPower isn’t about politics. It’s about optimizing wellness. It’s about harnessing the inherent and incredible power of plants to heal your body, repair your health and provide the strength, mental focus and resolve to unleash your best self.
The PlantPower Diet — as more fully described in Rich’s book Finding Ultra, and the recipes contained in our Jai Seed eCookbook — is the product of asking ourselves one simple question: What makes our bodies run the best? And the answer is quite remarkable – plants make it run the best. And so we prefer to call our eating lifestyle PlantPowered, a term that gets more to the heart of our relationship with food. Our pro-plant bias is not about being liberal or conservative. It’s about sustainable long-term health; promoting harmony of mind, body and spirit through nutrition; combating the onset of infirmities that all too often unnecessarily plague us – heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol and blood pressure, cancer, depression and chronic fatigue; fueling our bodies to perform at their peak; and, most importantly, nurturing the emergence of the best version of the self within us all.
The old adage is true. You are what you eat. But that doesn’t mean it has to be complicated, daunting or confusing. Because eating the PlantPower way is far easier – and more sustainable in the long-run — than you might imagine.
How do we define fitness?
Fitness comes in many forms – our challenge to you is what can you do to increase your fitness? Be it a local 5k, swimming every morning, taking a series of yoga classes or simply committing to taking a walk every morning to start your day, you’ll find that your body responds quickly and you’ll be amazed at where this will take you.
The message is this: when the body, mind and spirit are healthy and balanced, anything is possible. The power to change exists within you. It’s never too late and is there for the taking.

Meditation
Simply put, meditation is the most powerful tool available not just to manage stress, enhance focus and calm the nerves, but to connect with your heart, unlock the most authentic version of yourself within, and nurture it to life.
A life of Jai – or victory — is defined as a deep knowing of who you truly are. And stepping into that design with unwavering courage and authenticity.
Meditation is the straightest path to that victory.
We’ve all heard of meditation. But how many of us actually do it? Despite it’s inherent simplicity, it’s a practice that remains unnecessarily shrouded in mystery. And although far from time consuming, even those who concede the benefits of meditation nonetheless struggle to find the time and discipline to pursue a practice consistent enough to reap the immense benefits.
We get it. Our lives are incredibly busy, juggling four children, multiple careers, and a household that perpetually chaotic. Who has the time or wherewithal to meditate when we are perpetually overwhelmed by stimuli?
But these reasons are precisely why meditation is more important than ever.
How you can get started
Keep It Simple: Don’t overcomplicate or obsess; it only leads to burnout. Sustainability is the name of the game. Start small with some easy steps — like swapping dairy for almond milk, or demoting meat to a small side dish in favor of a plant-based entrée. Avoid elaborate recipes in favor of plant-based dishes close to their natural state, such as those set forth in our Jai Seed eCookbook. As you start to feel better, you can pick up the pace.
I Know What I Can’t Eat. So What Can I Eat? Plants! Vegetables, fruits, grains, seeds, legumes. Every meal. All the time. All colors, all sizes, and simply prepared. And remember, the closer your foods are to their natural state, the better. The variety of options are virtually limitless.
Stick to the Grocery Store Perimeter: Avoid the middle aisles, which proliferate with the processed and refined foods that make you sick.
Make Your Blender Your Friend. The more you incorporate nutrient dense blended raw fruit and vegetable drinks, such as the recipes in the Jai Seed eCookbook, the more you will thrive.
Let Go of Perfection. Starting small is great. Don’t worry about being perfect. If you flog yourself for a misstep, you’ve just made a second blunder. And that discouragement can take you out of the game altogether. Just make the next best choice and move forward.
